Holy City – Rev 21:2-3
Vs 2-3 – John sees the Holy City coming out of
heaven. It is God’s gift to the
inhabitants of the earth. It
is prepared as a
bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
The analogy and metaphor is applicable
here. God is the
bridegroom and the people of God are the bride.
Our new dwelling place will be the
New Jerusalem.
John then hears a voice announcing that God’s dwelling place will be
among mankind.
The Lord Himself will now dwell on earth. He will be among them and they will be His
people and God
Himself will be with them and be their God. God will now take physical form and will
dwell among us.
Fellowship will be complete. Currently we worship Him in Spirit and in
truth but now He will dwell
Among us. This is
a mind boggling concept because how will an omnipresent God do this. Many
Scholars believe that this will be Jesus Himself that
will do this. Remember Jesus shows
himself in the
Form of man and his anthropology is flesh and bones.
