Ichabod – Seventy Seven
The word
Ichabod is written on many church doors today.
The glory and presence of God has left many churches because of their
apathy, lethargy and apostasy. The Lord
however is not finish with His church.
He is preparing a people right now.
At first it will be small pockets of people seeking the face of God but
in time it will grow to a mighty army.
Revival always starts with the few and then grows into the many. The question is what are you? Are you the one with Ichabod written across
your heart or are you’re the remnant?
Remember the
promise is for the last days to one of remnant theology. What we are talking about in this context is
a group within a group. People who are
not satisfied with where they are in God.
They want more and will have the discipline to go after it until they
get what they want and need. The Lord
promises that those who are hungry, thirsty and desperate will be filled. You will get what you need from God when you
go after it. The Lord is not stingy or
hiding. He is more willing to give and
do exceedingly above and beyond what we can ask or imagine. The reality is that we are the ones who hold
back. We hold back because of lack of
focus, or fear. God’s ear is not so deaf
that He cannot hear or His arm so short that he cannot save. He is willing but we must be willing to reach
out and take His hand of blessing.
It
sounds easy in the mind but much harder in practice. An inadequate but applicable illustration is
the person who wants to get into shape.
They know in their mind that getting in shape brings longevity,
flexibility, health and good mental health.
In the mind they know they should get into shape but it is the
discipline to go to the gym, eat right and refuse certain types of food. Mindset is the first battle the second is the
discipline to reach your goal. Today
pray, read your bible, share you faith and go to church. They are the four pillars that will create
hunger and thirst for the Lord. Feed
your soul and spirit with the Word of God.
Discipline yourself to have a time with the Lord every day. This will keep you from having Ichabod
written across your heart. Lastly attend
a church where the word of God and its standards will be never compromised or
ignored.
