Don`t fall into the trap of neglect – Eight three
There are
lessons we can learn from the Word of God.
Hebrew 2:3, reminds us to not neglect such a great salvation. It is hard to believe that Christians could
be capable of doing this but it happens every day. In the busyness of life that not happens but
more often than we would like to admit.
Think about it. Here you are working,
eating, doing exercise, watching television, reading books, going out with
family and friends, paying bills etc.
Before you know it a day or two has gone by and you have not had one
moment with God.
You did not
mean for it to happen it just did. You
had the best intentions when you started each day but each day has time
constraints and challenges of their own.
The urgent and the crisis calling for your attention. Family, friends, work and other things demanding
you spend time with them. Then there are
all the voices of the world. The
telemarketer, the ad campaign, the salesman trying to sell you another gadget
or gizmo knife.
Here
is God waiting for you to spend time with Him.
His voice is still and small. He
is only as close as the mention of His name.
If you come to Him you will find rest for your soul. Peace in the midst of the storm. Joy in the middle of pain and suffering. His joy can become your strength. He can give you the oil of joy for mourning
and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. All the wonderful benefits such as love, joy,
peace, grace mercy, freedom and victory are yours but you do not access them
because you are just too busy with life.
It is easy to neglect so great a salvation but we do to our peril. Today remember that this salvation should
never be taken for granted. To do so
could you miss the most important thing of all your eternity. Be wise and spend time with God today.
