Proverb of Steel

Your can be successful in all areas of life and still lose in end

Verse Today

Psalm 31:1 King James Version (KJV)

31 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.

My Honor

June 5 – My Honor – Psalm 62:7-8

David states her that is honor, high respect; esteem, distinction, recognition, privilege,, prestige, merit and credit depends on the Lord.  His salvation comes directly from the Lord.  David knew as we should that salvation is a gift that cannot be earned.  God chose to save because of his love, mercy and grace.  To think otherwise is foolish and deadly.  David then stated that the Lord is his mighty rock and refuge a common statement for David.  He lived in a world where protection was found in fortresses and high walls.  Refuge and safety were found in these places.
He then calls his readers and all people to trust the Lord at all times.  In all circumstances and situations trust the Lord.  Pour your hearts out to Him.  This means pray and let God know how you feel.  As the old song says, “Tell Jesus all about your problems.”  In all of this you will find God is your refuge.  He is your place of safety, rest, protection, help and peace.

Proverb of Steel

Success is never a barometer for character, it is what you do in your private times that is.  *

Verse Today

2 Corinthians 5:17 New International Version (NIV)

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here!

In God Alone

June 4 – In God Alone – Psalm 62:5-6

The psalmist tells his soul to find rest in the Lord.  Sometimes you actually must will yourself to find rest in the Lord.  Sometimes these are just declarations of faith.  There are times when you have to remind yourself that God is with you.  Emotions are a funny thing.  They often betray our true heart.  Many times we feel nothing in our relationship.  This is the times we make declarations of faith.  The psalmist spoke this to his world.  “Find rest Oh my soul in God alone.”  “My hope comes from Him”.  What a great statement.  You have a future in the Lord.  You have something to hope for.  Good is coming your way in the Lord.
David then restates what he said, in verse 2, He alone is my rock, my salvation, He is my fortress, I will not be shaken.  When a writer restates something they want their readers to know this is their heart cry.  Is this your heart cry?  Make it you aim this day to find rest in the Lord, for He alone can and will be your salvation, fortress, hope and victory.  With Him in your corner today you will not be shaken no matter what comes your way?
