This is an
unfortunate truth too many of use spend our lives hiding parts of us to be
accepted by others. It is very sad that
to be accepted in the by others we have to put on a mask or lives under unreal
expectations.
Only as we get
older and a little wiser about life we learn that our quirks, differences and imperfections
are what give is character. They are not
flaws at all. They are part of us. God made us certain ways for a reason. The way you look and see things is not bad at
all. I used to wish I was a certain
way. When I was a teenager, I had one TV
hero he was Michael Cole from Mod Squad.
I had a similar look, so I dressed like him and acted like him. It was okay for a while until I realize I
could be accepted for who I was. We are suffering
with an identity crisis from time to time abut then we get to a point where we
learn that we are who we are and that is okay
The real joy
is when we stop pretending and find people who love us the way we are in spite
of our quirks. That is when life gets
sweet and wonderful. That is why I love
finding a spouse who knew all about my spouse and accepted me the way I was and
chose me. Nothing is sweeter and better
than that.
