1 Timothy
4:12New International Version (NIV)
12 Don’t let
anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the
believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
1.
Be an example, role, model, mentor, influence
on those around you.
a.
Speech,
what you speak, how you speak, what you say and how you say it. The choices of your words and how they are
presented.
b.
Words
can heal or hurt. They can saved or
kill. Talk about what James says about
them. Quick to listen, slow to speak
& slow to anger.
2.
Conduct: How you live, your deeds, actions, attitudes,
reactions, motives, priorities and what you treasure. Conduct reflects what is in the heart. It is important how you live. You are your brother`s keeper. Talk about what happen to me when I got drunk
as a teenager.
3.
Love –
Love show we are his disciples. Love
shows our true heart. That we have a
good vertical relationship which translate in how we deal with others. We loves for opportunities to serve and be
unselfish. The book of Mark tells us
that Jesus healed all who came to Him because of his compassion. Have Loera read 1 Cor 13:4-8, James Kilpatick used to share his coffee and
cakes with an old French woman who later because wealthy enough to give him $50,000
when she passed away.
4.
Faith: Faith is active belief and trust in God. Faith is a lifestyle of God`s will being done
every day in our lives. It affects
everything we think, say, and live. It
is our compass, guide and GPS. Faith
moves us to trust and go like Abraham.
It is what gives us righteousness.
Faith is trusting without understanding why. Believing without seeing. Knowing without evidence.
Talk about Abraham
5.
Purity: This is being righteous, holy, blameless,
without reproach. No stain or pollution
by the world. It is choice and decision
to stay clean and pure. This happens by
prayer, the word, going to church and hanging out with the right kind of
people. Talk about twin brothers one who
went into crime and the other who became a police officer and the day he had to
arrest his brother.
