You are a temple

You are a temple  -  Eighty One

The Bible says in 1 Cor 6:19-20 that we are the temple of the Holy Spirt and we are call to keep our temple pure, holy and righteous.  This is very hard at times because of the constant attack from the world, the flesh and the devil.   You cannot however give in to any of these forces at any time.  They are relentless and you must be as well.  Remember you are where the Holy Spirit dwells.  He lives in you and He is there to help you in this battle.  The problem is so many people do not avail themselves to His influence and try to do it on their own and fail miserably.  It is time to let the power and presence of the Holy Spirit enable you to make this happen.  The first thing is to seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit.  Ask Him to come and fill you completely.  This is where you ask Him to search your heart and help you get rid of every sin and weight that so easily besets you.  1 Cor 11 :28 tells us to examine our hearts.  That is taking a spiritual inventory of your mind, will and emotions.  Looking at your past and present.  Once something has been revealed to you to confess it, renounce, which means making a decision to not do it again and then receiving His forgiveness.  After this is done ask the Holy Spirit to fill those vacant areas and take control of your will, intellect and emotions.  Making a volitional decision to surrender every part of your life to Him.  Once that is done and He will come in and change you from the inside out.  Paul beautifully put it this way in Rom 12:1-2, “Present your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable until Him which your reasonable service.  Then do not be conformed but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind to know the perfect and acceptable will of God.  That means you take every thought captive.  You renew your mind in the word of God and spend time in prayer getting to know God better.
It also means living a healthy lifestyle, eating right and exercising.  It means bringing Jesus into everything that you do and are.  It means choosing Jesus over everything else and inviting Him into every situation you are involved in.  Being a temple means you are always aware of being holy, pure and blameless in the sight of the Lord.  You have an audience of one.  He knows all and sees all.  He knows what is going on in your mind and heart.  So today act and live like the Lord and you will truly a Son and Daughter of God.
