Jan 5 – Universal Peace

 Jan 5 – Universal Peace

He will establish universal peace, goodness, and truth all over the world.  This is the goal of the Messiah in the future.  After the Tribulation period Jesus will come up and set up a thousand-year reign of peace, safety and security.  It will be a time of love, peace, goodness, and truth.  All evil will be removed during that time and the earth will have the longest period of peace and harmony in its history.

This Messiah will be rejected by His own people and will be put to death for the sins of the world.  Isaiah in graphic detail outline the suffering and the death of the Messiah.  He would also reveal the motive and reason for His agonizing death.  People will be saved, healed and delivered.

PROVERBS IOF STEEL FOR JAN 4, 2024

Jan 4 – Two Truths

 Jan 4 – Two Truths

Isaiah Emphasizes:  There is one true God and creator of the universe.  He is the sovereign of all.  God brought all things into being with a word from His mouth.  God spoke and it happened.  Our very breath is a gift from God.  Everyday is a gift and never to be taken for granted.

He is the upholder of the moral law who brings judgment on the heathen.  God expects his people to be ethical and moral people.  We have the Bible as our compass in this matter.  Isaiah would promote being not a subscriber to the Lord but also a doer.  James says that faith is best expressed by what we do.  Let us make it our aim to do that today and every day this year.

PROVERBS OF STEEL FOR JAN 3, 2024

Jan 3– Grace – 1 Cor 16:22

 Jan 3– Grace – 1 Cor 16:22

23 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.

Paul reminds his audience that it was the grace of the Lord Jesus that gave them this wonderful privilege. God’s riches at Christ’s expense. Unmerited favor. The love of God in action through grace and mercy. Paul wants it to be with them. To surround them. To flow through them to aa world in desperate need of it. We are the bearers of love, grace, mercy, and peace. We carry as message of hope in a hopeless world. We are the light that shines in the darkness. We flavor the bland world in which we live. The Lord Jesus made the way and now we are to carry on his mission, ministry, and work.

There is no greater privilege to do the will of the Father as Jesus did.

PRVERBS OF STEEL FOR JAN 2, 2024

Jan 2 – Amen – 1 Cor 16:23

 Jan 2 – Amen – 1 Cor 16:23

24 My love to all of you in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Paul was sending his love from where he was to where they were. Paul even though he had to correct, admonish, and discipline the church to a certain manner. He still loves them like a father. Paul reminds them that all they have is because of Jesus Christ. He is the central truth and object of the Christian faith. Paul uses the phrase Christ Jesus which speak of the messiahship and the humanity of Jesus Christ. Jesus is full God and man. Jesus is God with a face. Jesus is the avenue in which all the promises. Blessing, and benefits of heaven come.

Paul then closes with Amen. Exclamation point. Nothing needs to be added or subtracted. All has been said. I can see the church gasping for air as it digests all the subject matter discussed in this letter. Scholars, preachers, clerics, teachers, and theologians have been studying, discussing, and probing this book for centuries. One thing the writer may have been Paul, but the author was the Holy Spirit. It has been a real privilege to write this devotion and I wish you a Happy New Year.
