Salvation of God

May 3 – Salvation of God – Psalm 50:23

     Asaph who is the author of this psalm closes with a wonderful thought.  Those who offer thank offering honors the Lord.  Thank offerings today are statements of gratitude and exhortations of worship to the Lord.  You thank and praise the Lord for who He is and what He has done.  You can do it privately or publicly.  When in public you are stating to those in your world you love and glorify God.  It is also known as a testimony. 

     The Lord promises that He will show us the way of salvation and lead our way.  It is so nice to know that the Lord goes before us even before we leave on the journey.  He is already there even before we take a step.  When you honor God His promise is that He will direct your steps.  Remember the steps of a good person is ordered by the Lord.  You honor God and He will honor you.

Thursday Thought

It is Thursday and here your thought to ponder.  Always temper your discipline with love or you will raise a child of fear.   Today show true love and you will have a child that respects and loves you.

Keep your promises

May 2 -  Keep your promises – Psalm 50:14-15

     There was once a dad who promised his son they would play ball that evening but in the rush of everyday life he forgot.  That night during evening prayer at bedtime the boy prayed, in the presence of his father.  “Lord, help my dad keep his promises.”  This struck the dad hard and he asked for his son’s forgiveness and never again broke a promise.  Promises are easy make but so much harder to keep.  In this psalm Asaph exhorts his listeners to sacrifice their offerings to God but also keep their vows.  Jesus said that our word should just be yes or no.  A person is only as good as their word. 

     The promise in verse 15, is that if keep your word when you call on God in your day of trouble, He will deliver and help you.  In this way you will honor Him. So today keep your word and promises and in this way you will honor God.
