Proverb of Steel
Marriage can become a ball and chain scene. You are not having a ball and you are chained
to a scene.
Verse Today
Psalm 62:12New International Version - UK (NIVUK)
12 and with you, Lord, is unfailing love’;
and, ‘You reward everyone
according to what they have done.’
and, ‘You reward everyone
according to what they have done.’
Speaking truth
Romans 9:1-3 – Speaking truth
Vs 1- Paul opens this chapter
by re-affirming the fact that he is speaking the truth and He is not
lying. Nothing can separate us from the
love of God. His inner voice the
conscience has confirmed it by the witness of the Holy Spirit.
Vs 2 – Paul has great sorrow
and anguish in His heart. This anguish
does not stop. So many cannot grasp the
truth, that nothing can separate them from the love of Christ.
Vs 3 – Paul wishes that he
could be cursed and cut off for sake of His own race from Christ. His love for his own people is so
intense. He wants them to be saved.
The Scene
It is Tuesday and here is your thought. Marriage can become a ball and chain scene. You are not having a ball and you are chained to a scene. The marvelous thing is that you can do something about it. Treat your spouse with respect, love and forgiveness. Always seek their needs above your own and you will build truth and honesty in your marriage. Treat them like a thoroughbred or they will become a nag.

Proverb of Steel
Marriage has been described as a phone call at 3
a.m. You get the ring and then you wake up.
Verse Today
Psalm 62:10New International Version - UK (NIVUK)
10 Do not trust in extortion
or put vain hope in stolen goods;
though your riches increase,
do not set your heart on them.
or put vain hope in stolen goods;
though your riches increase,
do not set your heart on them.
Secret of Victory
Secret of Victory – Romans 8:38-39
Vs 38 – The secret of victory
and absolute assurance for the Christian is to walk as they have been
taught. Paul was fully persuaded that
neither death or life, angels, principalities, powers, things present or things
in the future,
Vs 39 – No height, depth or
any kind of creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God. There is nothing on earth, heaven or the
universe that can separate us from the love of God. God’s love is complete and you can not keep
it from you. God is love. This love came though Jesus Christ our
Lord. What a closing statement for this
chapter.
Simple Thought
It is the weekend and here is a funny and simple thought. Marriage has been described as a phone call at 3 a.m. You get the ring and then you wake up. Marriage will be what you make. There are three things that will help make a marriage work. Communication, attitude and commitment. Apply these three and your marriage has a greater chance of success.

Jewish Proverb
Jewish Proverb – Romans 8:36-37
Vs 36 – Paul the quotes a
Jewish proverb, “For your sake we are being killed all day long, we are counted
as sheep for the slaughter.” We have to
die daily. We must say no to the flesh,
world and the devil.
Vs 37 – This is such a
powerful verse. In all things we are
more than conquerors through who loved us.
There are three things of note.
We are more than conquerors.
Through Christ this happens.
Lastly, God love us.
Verse Today
Psalm 62:9King James Version (KJV)
9 Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
Proverb of Steel
Many a young woman has been looking for a knight
in shining armour and they end up with a clown in baggy pants.
Baggy Pants
It is Thursday and the week is moving quickly and here is your thought. Many a young woman has been looking for a knight in shining armor and they end up with a clown in baggy pants. Today look for people of integrity and honesty. People who love the Lord and these are the qualities that make a wonderful life partner.

No Condemnation
No Condemnation – Rom 8:34-36
Vs 34 – Paul then asks the
question, who can condemn you? Jesus
Christ died and has risen again. Right
now He is sitting at the right hand of God making intercession and advocating
for us. So when the accusation comes
Jesus comes to our defense. He has also
supplied us with the means of escaping condemnation because He has already
secured the resources to pay any debt owe because of our sin. All we have to do is ask.
Vs 35 – Paul then closes with
one final question. Who can separate us
from the love of Christ. Paul has been
using this form of writing to make His point through out the letter. He asks a question and then answers it. Can tribulation, distress, persecution,
famine, nakedness, peril or sword.
Vs 36 – Paul the quotes a
Jewish proverb, “For your sake we are being killed all day long, we are counted
as sheep for the slaughter.” We have to
die daily. We must say no to the flesh,
world and the devil.
Verse Today
Psalm 62:8New International Version (NIV)
8 Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.
Freedom
It is the middle of the week and here is a simple but powerful thought. Freedom dwells in the heart of every person but only God can truly release it. Who the Lord sets free is free indeed. Let Him release yours today.

Proverb of Steel
Freedom is a precious gift never to be taken for granted
or used as an excuse to lead oneself back into bondage.
God is For us -
God is For us - Rom 8:31-33
Vs 31 – Paul stops for a
moment with a thought. What can we say
to this? With God is for us, who can be
against us. When the will of God is to
be called, justified and glorified. No
one can stand in our way.
Vs 32 – If God did not spare
His own Son but delivered Him for all of us.
Shall he not only through Christ freely give us all things. It is because of Jesus’ sacrifice that all
the benefits of eternal and abundant life are now ours.
Vs 33 – No one can lay a
charge against God or us. God has
justified us and we are set free for the glory of God. No accusation of the devil will stand when we
stand in Christ. We have been justified
and declared righteous in God’s sight.
Tuesday Thought
It is Tuesday and here is a simple thought. Freedom is a precious gift never to be taken for granted or used as an excuse to lead oneself back into bondage. Freedom is a precious gift. Jesus Christ came to set the captive free. So never let anything take you back into bondage.

His Image
His Image – Romans 8:28-30
Vs 28 – This is such a
powerful and wonderful verse. All things
work together for good to them who love the Lord. It does not say all things are good but all
things will work together for good. For
those who are called according to His purpose.
God has a purpose and will for our lives, When our aim and goal is His, will then all
things that happen in our lives will be good eventually.
Vs 29 – God will is that we
become conformed to His image. God has
an image He wants to become like. That
image of course is to be like Jesus.
Jesus was the first born of many brethren. If we become like Jesus then we are doing the
will of God.
Vs 30 – The will of God is
that first we are called, then we are justified and then we are glorified. These four help us to do the will of
God. When you know you have been set
apart from the beginning of time, you answer to call to be justified which
later will bring glorification.
Verse Today
Psalm 62:6King James Version (KJV)
6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
True qualities
It is the beginning of the week and here is your thought. True worth does not come from what we get but from what we give. So today and through out the week be a giver. Give love, acceptance and forgiveness. True qualities from the Lord.

The Promise
The Promise – Romans 8:25-27
Vs 25 – Our hope give us the
patience to wait for what has been promised.
What a great verse to stand upon as you wait for God’s promises to come
to past.
Vs 26 – The Holy Spirit will
help in times when we are infirmed, sick or in trouble. We may not know how to pray in those times
because we may be focused on what is happening to us. In those times the Holy Spirit will help make
intercession through us with groaning which cannot be uttered. In times of deep and dark discouragement the
Holy Spirit will be with us helping us to articulate to God want we need.
Vs 27 – The Lord Jesus Christ
who searches all things knows the mind of the Spirit. Jesus makes intercession for us according to
the will of God. Together they work on
our behalf for the perfect will of God to be done in our lives.
Verse Today
Psalm 149:5-9New King James Version (NKJV)
5 Let the saints be joyful in glory;
Let them sing aloud on their beds.
Let them sing aloud on their beds.
Freedom Flows
It is the weekend and here is a simple thought. Freedom starts when forgiveness flows. Let both flow in your life and world.

Creation
Creation – Rom 8:22-24
Vs 22 – All creation up to
this point has been groaning and travailing in pain. Things are not yet fulfilled but soon they
shall be.
Vs 23 – Not only creation is groaning
but we are as will. Paul called us the
first fruit of the Spirit. In fact we
are even now groaning ourselves. We can
hardly wait. The full adoption and
benefits of that adoption will come with the redemption of our body. When our bodies are fully glorified will the
full benefits of salvation be seen.
Vs 24 – We have been saved by
hope. Paul then says that when a person
has seen something they no longer have hope for they have seen what they hoped
for. When you have not seen what you
have hoped for you still have faith and trust.
You know God has promised it and now you are waiting for its
fulfillment.
Verse Today
Psalm 149:4New International Version (NIV)
4 For the Lord takes delight in his people;
he crowns the humble with victory.
he crowns the humble with victory.

Holding Pattern
Holding Pattern – Rom 8:19-21
Vs 19 – We are in a waiting
or holding pattern. We are waiting for
the manifestation of the Son of God. A
day is coming when all that is hope for and believed in will become a reality.
V s 20 - A person who walks
after the flesh is subject to foolishness and vanity. This is an unwilling bondage but we who know
the Lord have been subjected to a hope.
Jesus is coming back and soon.
Vs 21 - Paul calls us creatures. The creature has been and will continue to be
delivered from the bondage of corruption.
Paul in another letter said that that which is mortal will put on
immortality and that which is corruptible will put on incorruption. We have traded corruption and bondage for the
glorious liberty of the Spirit.

active Jack Russell Terrier. They say the wrong thing at the wrong time
for the wrong reason.

Children of God
Romans 8:16-18 – Children of
God
Vs 16 - The Spirit bear witness in our Spirit. He testifies to our spirit and heart that we
are the children of God. What a
scripture of assurance. You are the son
and daughter of God.
Vs 17 – The reality of this
life in Christ and in the Spirit is that we are not only children but heirs of
God. What a thought, we are joints heirs
with Jesus Christ. What ever He has we
will have. We will suffer with Him but
we will also be glorified with Him as well.
Suffering is part of the Christian life but with that suffering also
comes glorification later.
Vs 18 – Paul says that the
present suffering is nothing in comparison with what comes later,
glorification. Suffering produces the
glory of God, The glory of God is the
character and essence of God. You become
more like the Lord through your suffering.

Psalm 149:2New International Version (NIV)

Verse Today
Psalm 149:1King James Version (KJV)
149 Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.
Reality – Romans 8:13-15
Vs 13 – Here is reality, if
you live according to the flesh you will die.
Flesh only brings death. If you
crucify, mortify and put to dead the flesh through the Holy Spirit you will not
die. Life and death is a choice so
choose wisely.
Vs 14 – The result of being
led by the Spirit is that you are the son or daughter of God. It is His will and desires that you wish to
have in your life.
Vs 15 – The results of being
led by the Spirit is that you are not in bondage to fear. You have love, power and a sound mind. Secondly, you have been adopted into the family
of God. Lastly you can call him, “Daddy
God.”
Proverb of Steel
Take great care to speak positively about
people, what you say about others can and will be said about you.
Positive
It is the beginning of the week and here is a simple but wise thought. Take great care to speak positively about people, what you say about others can and will be said about you. The Bible calls this the law of sowing and reaping. You reap what you sow. So stay positive and say positive about others and in this way you sow to the things of God.

The Spirit
The Spirit – Romans 8:10-12
Vs 10 – If Christ dwells in
us we know our body must be dead to trespass and sin. Sin makes our bodies dead to the things of
God. The Spirit brings one powerful
component to our lives. This truth is
that we are righteous and have been made the righteousness of Christ.
Vs 11 – I love how Paul puts
this. That same Spirit raised Christ
from the dead dwells in you. You have
resurrection power in you. This resurrection
power will quicken your mortal body. The
Holy Spirit who dwells in you will quicken you.
He will empower you to walk in resurrection power. You can and will win over the world, the
flesh and the devil. The Holy Spirit
dwells in you with resurrection power.
Vs 12 – Paul the presents
again the theme that we are debtors.
Everything we have and ever will be is because of Jesus Christ. We owe Him.
We are not to live in the flesh or after the flesh. Our will, intellect and emotions belong to
God.

Speak words of encouragement, love and restoration and
this elevate the level of human language around you.

Fighting God
Fighting God – Romans 8:7-9
Vs 7 – To be carnally minded
means you will find yourself fighting God.
The carnal mind is not and will not subject or obey the law of God. The battle is for control. The carnal mind cannot submit to God because
it must be in charge.
Vs 8 – So when a person walks
in the flesh they cannot please God. Pride,
sin and disobedience are a straight path to destruction.
Vs 9 – Paul then commends the
Romans by saying they are not of the flesh but in the Spirit. Here, Paul makes it clear that the Spirit of
the God dwells in us. We are the temple
of the Holy Spirit. Those who however do
not have the Spirit are not Christ’s. It
is clear the Holy Spirit will only dwell in a willing heart.
Verse Today
Ephesians 6:21King James Version (KJV)
21 But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:
Proverb of Steel
How you talk and interact with other people will

Verse Today
Ephesians 6:20New International Version (NIV)
20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
Right Walk
Right Walk – Romans 8:4-6
Vs 4 – The law of
righteousness will be fulfilled in us if we choose not to walk according to the
flesh but according to the Spirit. God
wants to impute to you righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit but that
does not happen unless you choose to walk in the Spirit.
Vs 5 – Those who walk in the
flesh have their minds set on the things of the flesh and those that have the
mind of the Spirit set their hearts on the things of the Spirit. Jesus said, “That which is flesh is flesh and
that which is Spirit is Spirit. The two
cannot co-exist. Set your minds of the
things of the Spirit.
Vs 6 – Paul makes it clear
about the difference between spiritually minded and carnally minded. For the carnal minded they will see
death. The spiritually minded will see
life.
Proverb of Steel
The wise person wants those around them to
understand what is being said so they will never use vague or confusing
terms. They will keep their conversation simple, concise and
direct.

Proverb of Steel
The fool thinks if you ignore a problem it will go
away. The wise knows a problem does not go away, it must challenge
quickly and effectively. A small challenge now will be a big problem later
if left alone.
No Condemnation
No Condemnation – Rom 8:1-3
Vs 1 – Paul says that because
Christ has delivered us from death unto life there is now no condemnation for
those who are in Christ Jesus. The
operative word here is making sure you are in Christ Jesus. You know you belong to Him. Then you will no longer want to walk
according to the flesh with its images or standards. You want to walk according to the Spirit with
His gifts and fruit.
Vs 2 – The law of the Spirit
of life in Christ has made us free from the law of sin and death. There is a powerful contrast between life and
freedom in Christ and the law which brought sin and death.
Vs 3 – The law could not free
mankind from sin and death but God sent His Son Jesus Christ in the form of
sinful flesh. Jesus was like us in all
ways yet without sin. His death
condemned sin in any form because He died in the flesh that sin would be done
away with.
Verse Today
Ephesians 6:18New International Version (NIV)
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Monday Thought
Today is the beginning of the week and here is your thought. The fool thinks if you ignore a problem it will go away. The wise knows a problem does not go away, it must challenge quickly and effectively. A small challenge now will be a big problem later if left alone. Not Hopeless
Not Hopeless – Rom 7:25
Vs 25 – Paul however does
leave himself, his audience or us in a hopeless or helpless position. “Thank God”, he says for Jesus Christ our
Lord. He has rescued us from sin, it’s
slavery and death it brings. He has
helped us to pass from death unto life.
Jesus is God’s answer and man’s remedy for sin. Paul is a slave to God’s law in His mind but
in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.
Fortunately for Paul and us, who the Son sets free, is free indeed.
Proverb of Steel
A marriage built on the foundation of
communication, loving respect, mutual admiration, trust and the Lord will
always stand in the storms of life. A marriage built on other factors and

God Wants
God Wants – Romans 7:22-24
Vs 22 – Paul says that he
desired in his inner man to do what God wanted.
He saw the value and the beauty of the law.
Vs 23 – But he saw something
else working in his members. This
created a war between what he wanted to do in his mind and heart. He was a prisoner and slave to the law that
was working in his members even though in his mind and heart he wanted to do
God’s law and will.
Vs 24 – Paul saw the he was a
wretched man. In that moment he saw what
he was. He then cried out, “Who can save

It is Good
It is Good – Romans 7:16-18
Vs 16 – If we do what we do
not want to do, we have to agree that the law is good. The law shows us that we are sinners
incapable of doing good, even if we wanted too.
Vs 17 – A paradox of life is
that it is not us but sin living in us that causes us to do bad things. This however is not an excuse but the cause
of sinful thoughts, words and actions.
Vs 18 – There is nothing good
that dwells in us. Our sinful nature
prevents that. Man is under the delusion
that we are getting better but in reality we are not. We have a desire to do good, but it is
impossible for us to do as long as sin rules our hearts.
Verse Today
Ephesians 6:15New International Version (NIV)
15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
Proirity
It is the middle of the week and here is your thought. What a person thinks about most is what they make as a priority. Jesus said that where your heart is so is your treasure. Today make the things of God your number one priority.
