Peak of popularity
Peak of popularity – John 6:22-7:1
We will spend the next two days talking about what happened here. Jesus was at the peak of His popularity. Then He began to teach things that many people could not accept. Many in fact let Him grumbling and complaining.
1. Jesus showed the people that miracles are not as important as believing in the Son of God and receiving what He can give you.
2. To do the works of God one must believe in the Son who God has sent. People are looking for signs but Jesus came to be the Bread of Life and He gives true bread of the Spirit that silences sign seekers and fills the soul.
3. As the Bread, all who feed on this bread will never hunger or thirst again. Jesus reveals that the people of His day could see but they could not see.
4. Jesus came to do the will of Father. He will lose none of those that the Father gives Him. It will be the Father who will keep us to the end. We must believe in the Son to have life and endure to the end,
5. People don’t always understand but no one can come to the Son unless the Father draws them. This is the work of the Father’s grace.
6. People are taught by the Father and we must listen. The bread that Jesus gives is His body broken on the cross. He is the living bread and all who partake of Him will never hunger. He gives life to the world.
An ambassador
Do you have a goal for life. Here is one to think about. What is amazing is when God chooses to use us as mentors and role models. That God would cloak Himself in our flesh. That we can be His ambassadors and examples. So today go and be His ambassador in your world and change it for His glory and do it through others.

Sick at Genneseret
Sick at Genneseret – Matt 14:34-36 and Mark 6:53-56
When Jesus came off the boat the people recognized Him and they brought the sick and beg Jesus to heal them. Even those that touched the edge if His cloak were made well. Jesus came to heal all disease and it is God will to heal. This is a powerful truth that we need to apply to our lives today.
Live for eternity
This is a great thought. Do not fight the will of God. He has eternity in mind for you and others. You are an eternal person in a human body. This is not the best yet. God has so much in store for you. So live for the Lord and touch others but remember the best is yet t come.

5000 fed – Matt 14:13-21, Luke 9:10-17, Mark 6L30-44 and John 6:1-14
Jesus went out into the desert with the people for many days. The people ran out of food and Jesus asked His disciples to feed them. Immediately the disciples panicked. They answered that they did not know where to get enough food and that it would cost a lot of money to feed the people. They wanted the people to go to nearby villages and buy food for themselves. A little boy offered his lunch of five small loaves and two fishes. Jesus fed the people with this lunch. He had them sit down in rows of 50 and 100 and the people were all fed. After Jesus blessed the food and the food was distributed there were twelve baskets up of food left over.
1. This story shows that Jesus was a man that did things in abundance. Eph 3:29 says that the Lord can do abundantly beyond what we can think or imagine.
2. Jesus came to multiply of meagre resources.
3. With God little becomes much and there is always some left over.
4. Jesus can do miracles in abundance but also it takes an act of faith to do whatever He says.

Proverb of Steel
The wise man knows that all the end of life
it is not the material we leave behind that is important but the
people who we invested in for eternity.
Herod kills John
Herod kills John - Matt 14:1-12, Mark 6:14-29 & Luke 9:7-9
John is put into prison by Herod because he spoke against the king’s marriage to his brother’s wife Herodias. John was kept there for a long time and Herod listened to him many times even though John’s talks disturbed him. One day when Herod had a feast his step daughter danced for him and his guests. He enjoyed it so much he promised her half the kingdom for a reward. At the advice of her mother she asked for the head of John the Baptist. John was killed. Jesus and the people mourned over his death.
1. Herod was afraid to kill John because of the people. He knew that John was a holy and righteous man.
2. John was a man that puzzled and made people upset. He was an honest man.
3. Many people thought that Jesus was John the Baptist come back to life but Jesus told them John was Elijah and the greatest prophet of his day.

More than Gadgets
Here is your thought for this Thursday. The wise man knows that all the end of life it is not the material we leave behind that is important but the people who we invested in for eternity. People are more important than any bobble, thing or gadget. Invest in people and you win every time. People matter not possessions.

Jesus sends out the Twelve
Jesus sends out the Twelve – Luke 9:1-6
Jesus has sent out the twelve and they came back with great stories of victories. Jesus says they should rejoice not because the demons are subject to them but that their names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
1. We learn that no servant is greater than his master. All that is hidden will be revealed in due time. All that is kept in secret will be shouted from the housetops.
2. Do not be afraid of death. Be afraid of God who has death under His power. We are worth more than anything else in the world.
3. We are not to be ashamed of Jesus or else He will be ashamed of us. Jesus has not come to bring peace in the world but repentance even if it means that families will be against each other.
4. We must be willing to give up all, even our families for Jesus Christ.
5. We must be willing to take up our cross to follow Him. The greatest reward is to lose your life for the gospel.
6. All who receives us receives Christ and whoever rejects us rejects Christ. There are prophet rewards and rewards for acts of righteousness. Even giving a cup of cold water in Jesus name will receive a reward.

Jesus sends out the Twelve
Jesus sends out the Twelve – Matt 10, Mark 6:6-13 and Luke 9:1-6
Jesus sends the twelve out with His authority. They were able to cast out demons in Jesus’ name. He sent them out two by two so they would always have each others back. They were told to take no provisions with them their needs would be met by those who would house them. They went from town to town proclaiming the good news. They were to preach in the town and if the people of the town rejected their message they were to shake the dust off their feet and go to the next town. This act of shaking the dust off their feet was a sign of God’s judgment. They went and preached the gospel and many people believed. Demons were cast out. This was of course an assault on the kingdom of satan.
1. The laying on of hands and anointing with oil was part of the ceremony for healing of the sick even when Jesus was alive.
2. Jesus gives authority to His disciples over demonic spirits.
3. Jesus healed the sick as a sign of victory for the gospel message.
4. The disciples were sent to the lost sheep of Israel and their message was the Kingdom of God is near. They were heal, cast our demons and as they received so they were to give.
5. The worker is worthy of his hire. We bring peace when we come into a house.
6. To a person who rejects a Christian they shall be judged because of this rejection. We must be wise as serpents and yet harmless as doves. We will be persecuted for Jesus but the Holy Spirit will help us to know what to say.
7. People and families are fighting among themselves right until Jesus comes. All mankind will hates us because of Jesus. Never think the world will be your friend because they will not. All who stand firm to the end will be saved.
Father's Day Thought
Here is a thought for Father's Day. The mystery of faith is that God would use fallen humanity to accomplish His eternal purposes. Dad, God wants to use you to touch your family. You can do this three ways. One love your spouse. Next Love and enjoy your children each moment yo are with them. Lastly be a man of God. When you include the Lord in all aspects of life all things of real value will be added unto you.

Second Rejection at Nazareth
Second Rejection at Nazareth – Matt 13:53-58 & Mark 6:1-6
Jesus had finished speaking to the crowd and then He went back to His home town. While he was there He went into the synacogue and began to teach the people. As was the first time the people listened for a while but when he told them about His mission and they began to remember that this was their home town boy named Jesus and they knew His family. They were amazed at His power but they still did not have faith because of their familiarity to Jesus.
1. Jesus came to teach the people about the things of God and He wishes to do the same for you.
2. People in Jesus’ home town did not believe because they only saw things in the natural. Jesus dealt in the supernatural.
3. They saw Him as a man, not as the Son of God with power and wisdom that comes from above.
4. Jesus taught that a prophet is without honor in His home town.
5. The power of God cannot work where unbelief is present. There must be faith present for God to work. Miracles happen when people have faith.
6. People are going to take offence when you tell them about Christ cause even when Jesus was walking on the face of the earth people took offence to Him.
7. Even Jesus is amazed when people lack faith because He knows how important faith is to the Christian life. Do You?
