Psalm 77 - Psalms of Steel by Robert Dean Steel

Psalm 77 - Psalms of Steel

The Lord has done great things in my life.
He has given me new life and a new birth.
He helps me grow in the grace and knowledge of Him.
I have been given the robe of righteousness
A garment of praise, armor and weapon to wage war .
The Lord will shine His light through the radiant life,
He has given through His Son Jesus Christ.

The Lord is building character, wisdom and power.
Fellowship with Him has allowed this to happen in me.
I am His Son and belong to a large family.
We are all His Sons and Daughter all bought through salvation.
Lord educate and show me your ways,
That I will not sin or malign your name.
May my life through my service bring honor to your name.

Help me Lord to walk in your ways and stand for your truth.
Make me a warrior for you and defeat all your foes in your name.
Help me to never forget in this race of life.
It is how you finish that is more important than how you start.
Help to finish well so I can with others have the victor`s crown.
A crown given to all look forward to your appearing.
I thank you, Oh God for your assurance of salvation and immortality.

Psalm 25 - Psalms of Steel by Robert Dean Steel

Psalm 25 of Psalms of Steel by Robert Dean Steel

With strong and firm conviction the Lord speaks to His people,
His voice is heard  above all the noise and confusion.
The Lord wants His people to hear what He has to say.
His words are life, liberty and love.
To ignore Him is to invite disaster.

The Lord`s word is firm, persuasive and brings conviction.
Those who trust in His word will be found firm and unmoveable.
When the storms of life come nothing will overcome you.
Your ground of faith will bring assurance and trust.
You know that what God has done before, He will do again.

The invisible, immortal, immutable God is with you.
He is not like man who changes His mood and mind in a moments notice.
His word has been placed above His name.
He will plant you and produce in you confidence in His word.
Surrender your heart and give your life to Him completely.

Then you shall see His full salvation.
You will see every word He has promise come to pass.
Your confidence will rest on God and His promises.
The faithfulness, assurance and fidelity of God never changes.
Put you complete trust in Him and you will never be forsaken.

Psalm 24 - Psalms of Steel by Robert Dean Steel

Psalm 24 of the Psalms of Steel
By Robert Dean Steel

The Lord bestows His favor upon His people,
The Lord delights and takes great pleasure in His saints.
As His children we have His favor and and regards.
Rejoice and give thanks for His kind acts.
Not once did we deserve His love and mercy.

The Lord`s love is universal and spontaneous,
His gives His redemptive gifts freely and joyfully.
The character of God is one  of love, mercy, grace
long suffering, gentleness, kindness and peace.
His judgment is for a moment but His mercy lasts for eternity.

We can never repay the debt of love we owe.
We can never do enough deeds or acts of kindness,
To settle the debt of sin we have accumulated.
This gift of salvation has come at a great price,
The Lord Himself paid it.  He died so we can live.

O give thanks to the Lord, all the people of God.
Clap your hands, lift your voice and sing praise.
Rejoice with the dance and with shouts.
Praise Him on the instruments.
With the trumpet, cymbals, strings and wind instruments.
Give thanks, let all say, Praise the Lord.

Psalm 23 - Psalms of Steel - By Robert Dean Steel

Psalm 23 of the Psalms of Steel
 By Robert Dean Steel

The Lord is a help and comfort in all things.
The Righteous have learned this are they are set.
The foolish trust in their own resources and wisdom,
The Righteous know the ways of God and love Him.
The foolish trust in their own intellect and hate God,
The Lord knows whose are His and those who are not.

Man always looks at the outward and misses the mark.
God sees what is in the heart and places eternity there.
Man rewards accomplishments, gestures of wealth and skill.
The Lord rewards love, obedience, faithfulness and character.
Which do you prefer the temporary or the eternal?
Are you wise or foolish, the choice is clear?

One thing I do know is that the things of man fade away.
That which belongs to God will stand for eternity.
I will follow the Lord, trust in Him and His marvelous love.
His love is eternal, matchless, priceless, powerful and glorious.
The love of God stands forever and will cover any sin.
Choose God's way and live.  If you choose man's way and you will perish

Psalm 22 - Psalms of Steel by Robert Dean Steel

Psalm 22 - By Robert Dean Steel

The Lord watches every step I make,
He knows where I shall go before I have made a plan.
He knows every thought I have before I make it;
It is He who will direct my ways and plan my steps.
I will trust Him with my past, seek His help in my present,
and rely on His love for my future,

There is one thing I know, the Lord is faithful.
He will keep me in His hand and I shall not be taken out of it.
His mercy brought me to Him.
His grace enables me to live with Him,
His love will keep me in my times of testing and trouble.
The Lord will be my guardian and my help.

The Lord keeps all who trust in Him.
To the poor, lonely, fearful, discouraged and unloved;
The Lord will put His arms of love around them.
To the foolish, proud, arrogant, selfish and uncaring;
You will see the judgment and wrath of God.
Choose which path you will go but as for me, I will serve the Lord.

Psalm 21 - Psalms of Steel by Robert Dean Steel

Psalm 21 - Robert Dean Steel

The Lord is our provider, source and victory.
He gives to those in need and those who are oppressed.
The Lord hears the cry of the poor and the lonely,
He sends His people care and He loves them.
Do not with hold from them when you can help.
Be the Lord`s hand and His healer.

The poor are the Lord's special ones.
We are His hand to protect and care for them
We are His restraining and enlightening force,
We must be their voice and protectors.
One day we must stand before our God,
To account for our service on their behalf.

Lord, be pleased with my service to them,
Show your loving kindness to me as I show it to others.
May my lips, hands and heart be yours.
Use me to show this love and kindness to others,
Help me to be your voice, hand and heart to those who need it.
May all who trust in the Lord never be ashamed.

Psalm 20 - Psalms of Steel by Robert Dean Steel

Psalm 20 - by Robert Dean Steel

There is nothing as wonderful as your house.
The place where you dwell and where your saints meet,
It is here your Word transforms hearts
And where you are praised and exalted in one accord.
You dwell in the midst of your people and you inhabit their praises.
Together we see your goodness, and as one we experience your love.
The Lord is to be glorified and exalted in the midst of His people.

Those who think God`s house is not for them are foolish.
They do not see the benefit of united worship.
They are not in unity with the Spirit or God`s people.
Their minds have been darkened by their own self righteousness.
They have let themselves be blinded by the evil one.
For the enemy knows of the power of a united people and
He will do anything to stop it,
So return to the House of the Lord and be healed.

The Lord dwells in the prayers and praises of His people.
Together we can accomplish anything for the Lord.
Rejoice, sing praises, offer together acceptable sacrifices of worship.
Boast, rave, publish and announce together God`s goodness.
He is worthy of praise, and glory goes before Him.
Power flows from His mighty hand.
All is known when His people dwell together in unity.

Psalm 19 - Psalms of Steel By Robert Dean Steel

There is a story told of a coming King.
This King will come with power, glory, righteousness and truth.
He will set things right that have been wrong.
He will heal all whose hearts have been broken.
Every tear He will dry and every pain He will heal.
All who have been cast down He will lift up.

The seeker will be found and every question will be answered.
We may see now as looking through a glass darkly.
But when He comes all shadows will end and all shall be revealed.
Every thought will be uncovered.  Every heart made open.
The wicked will fear His judgment and wrath.
The righteous will welcome His examination and love.

It will be a day of tragic fear and remorse for the  wicked.
A day of joy and reward for the righteous.
They will shine like the noon day sun and gleam like precious stones.
When the King comes, it will be day like no other.
A day that all are preparing for right now.  Are You?

Psalm 18 - Psalms of Steel by Robert Dean Steel

Psalm 18 -  Psalms of Steel by Robert Dean Steel

Praise the Lord, all creation raises its voice.
From the smallest creature to the highest mountain.
Praise Him all elements and animal life,
The beast in the field, to the birds of the air,
Sun, moon, stars, constellations, galaxies, comets and heavenly worlds.
The animals on the earth and creatures of the seas.
From Everest to the Dead Sea.  From the Mariana Trench to Mount Lau.
Let all praise the Lord.

Let child, youth, and adults, praise the Lord.
Man and woman together exalt His name.
He alone is worthy, no one is like our God.
Tell all of His greatness and qualities that truly are beyond description.
Publish to all His awesome deeds.
Praise the Lord, Let everyone and everything, Praise the Lord.

Psalm 17 - Psalms of Steel - By Robert Dean Steel

Psalm 17 - Psalms of Steel

Man`s knowledge has increased, we understand the ways of even the smallest of life.
Man has and is still searching the heavens.
He now knows how creation operates and moves.
The ways of the earth are understood and are still being discovered.

Yet for all this learning, knowledge, education and science.
Men are still fools, ignorant and distant from God.
Men who say there is no God are fools.
Those who rely on idols, philosophies and traditions are ignorant.
Those who salvation, in traditions, works and genealogy are distant from God.

There is only one way to the Lord.
It is through His salvation and his own Son that man can be saved.
Jesus is the truth, the way and the life.
Jesus is the only way.  God`s way.  His salvation.

Jesus is the truth, the only truth that matters.
He is the only life.  All who do not come through Him are dead
Even though they breath and have life.
Come to Jesus and forsake all else.  Seek Him now.

Waiting could cost you everything.  Man`s way leads to death.
Jesus and His way leads to life evermore.
Ponder these thoughts.  Think them through.  Be thorough in your thinking.
Then make your decision and remember that this decision has eternal consequences.

Psalm 16 - Psalms of Steel by Robert Dean Steel

Psalm 16 - Psalm of Steel
Knowledge is a curious thing, it can only help when applied.
Experience is only good when the lesson has been learned.
Discernment is wonderful when applied properly.
Skill is powerful when used in the right means and manner.
Understanding has great wealth when linked with wisdom.
Wisdom is priceless when founded in the fear of God.

Men have the capacity for the greatest good or sin.
The wise fear the Lord and learn His ways.
The fool refuses God`s goodness and love.
Do not let your life be wasted in the pursuit of riches, fame, security and self worth.
They are like the dust or leaves in the wind, quickly blown away.
Seek the Lord while you are young.
Learn His ways early so you can have a lifetime of righteousness.

It is the fool who turns away from God and seeks the world.
They will live with many hurts and regrets.
So turn to the Lord and seek His ways and live.
Search for Him while on this earth because it is too late when you are dead.
Trust in the Lord, not in riches and you will see His salvation.
He will guide you into truth, righteousness, peace, love and joy.

Psalm 76 - Psalms of Steel by Robert Dean Steeel

Psalm 76 - Psalms of Steel

I will praise His name forever.
He is Jehovah Jireh, my provider.
The Lord will supply all my needs.
I will praise His name forever.
He is Jehovah Nissi, my banner.
His banner over me is love.
His love will never fail.
I will praise His name forever.
He is Jehovah Tsidkenu, my righteousness.
The Lord has provided for me His righteousness.
I could do nothing to earn or merit this righteousness,
It was purchased for me through the precious Blood of Jesus Christ.
I will praise His name forever.
He is Jehovah Shalom, my peace.
The Lord gives peace not as the world gives.
The world cannot give this peace and it cannot take it away.
I will praise His name forever.
He is Jehovah Mackaddesh, my sanctifier.
The Lord make us holy and we are His.
We have been set apart for works of righteousness and love.
To love all who come in contact with us for His glory.
I will praise His name forever.
He is Jehovah Raah, my shepherd.
The Lord is my shepherd I will not want.
He is the one who will guide me into all truth.
His rod and staff comfort me.
I will praise His  name forever.
He is Jehovah Rophi, my healer.
There is no disease, sickness or affliction,
That the Lord cannot heal or deliver from.
I will bless His name forever.
Praise the Lord for His wonderful name.
He is the one who has the answer and victory.
He is the one I will turn to in times of need and help.
I will bless His name forever.

A Boxing Day Tradition

A tradition for many families after Christmas is to go to a local retail outlet and with what little money they have left they buy more stuff they do not need.  I know what I am talking about because I have more stuff than I will ever need.  Recently I decided to do an inventory of my clothing.  I discovered I had 15 suits, 4 pairs of jeans, two cordoroy pants, 7 pairs of dress pants, 6 pairs of kawki pants, 10 polo shirts, 20 dress shirts, numerous sweaters, over 50 ties and other forms of clothing.  Do I need more clothing?  No.  In my garage I have every tool known to man and I have over 3000 books.  I am stuffed out.  How did this happen?  It was not some sudden impulse buying spree where I felt I needed to get stuff.  When you been around for a while it just happens.  In my house I have not only my stuff but my wife Lois', Ryan our son, and Rebekah who lives in Japan but her stuff lives with us.  I do not need to go out and spend more money buying stuff on boxing day.   In our society when we have a holiday and we have so called relaxed.  We then feel the need to go and celebrate.  Boxing day is all about the celebration of commercialism at its finest.  O.K. so what is the purpose of this diatribe.  Simple.  We have just celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ, the most influential person who has ever lived.  Today as you fight the crowds, spend your last dime, think for a moment about maybe keep that dollar in your pocket instead of buying a new electronic gadget which most of us will do.  Put that aside to help others.  Help the Salvation Army reach their goal, the Christmas Bureau, pour it into the local church or buy a meal for a homeless person.   Materialism has infected our society to such an extent that we are material prosperous and spiritually bankrupt.  Poverty has never been the most dangerous threat to spiritually but prosperity.  When you do not need the basics, when you have all the material possessions you need there can come a spiritual lethargy.  Be careful of that today as you go about your boxing day business.

Psalm 75 - Psalms of Steel by Robert Dean Steel

Psalm 75 - Psalms of Steel

Give thanks to the Lord all you saints.
Pound out praise with the drum and fife.
Dance in the presence of the Lord.
With the sound of the strings.
High sounding praise on the violins.
Lower sounding worship on the bass.

Sound forth with the trumpet and trombone.
Announce His victory on the Shofar.
With the Keys of the Piano and organ,
Give melodic praise and worship to the Lord.

Raise the Banners and the flags.
Signal to the saints and the disciples.
To lift up their voices with great acclamation.
To praise and magnify the Lord.

With the shout of triumph declare His goodness.
Jump for joy with lips of praise.
Be undignified and freely declare your love.
Move freely and showed the joy of your salvation.

With a song of celebration with the high voices.
Declare His majesty, with the low voice.
He is worthy so sing with the middle voices
Let all voices in unison declare in song the greatness of our God.

The Lord is worthy of all our praises.
He has given us a wonderful salvation.
He has broken the curse of death, hell and the grave.
Satan has been defeated and all foes have been routed.

We have a message of hope and healing.
There is love, acceptance and forgiveness in the Lord.
Let all who come to us know our song.
The song of the redeemed and the saints of God.

Merry Christmas

It is Christmas Morning and I am sitting here in my dining room reflecting on what Christmas means. First, of all it is the celebration of the most influential person who ever lived. Jesus Christ has changed the course of human history and influenced more people than any other person who has ever lived. Christmas is about God stepping in time and space, matter and motion. Taking on the form of man and becoming like us. Jesus was God with a face. The perfect union of the human and the divine. He was 100% God and man. The Bible says that in the fullness of time, Jesus came. Today we have the privilege of being able to so see the full effect of Jesus' coming. His life effected people in so many ways. He healed the sick, cleansed the leper, raised the dead, gave hope, brought good news and finally salvation to all mankind. The peom, "One solitary life," is a wonderful biography of the impact of Jesus Christ. For a man who never wrote a book, more books have been written about Him than any man in history. For a man who never traveled more than 200 miles from His home, His message has reached around the world. He was man who never spoke to more than 20,000 people in a single sitting, yet His message has impacted billions. Yes one man can make a difference. Today as we celebrate the birth of the savior. Let His influence and life be an example for you to follow. Let His message of peace and earth and good will to men challenge you to do the same. With Him you can have a wonderful and abundant life.

Psalm 72 - Psalm of Steel by Robert Dean Steel

Psalm 72 - Psalms of Steel

In the Lord`s house there is healing.
In the sanctuary the Saints gather,
To sing Psalms, Hymns and worship.
To the Lord for His praise and glory.

The Lord`s house is a place of teaching and learning.
Here you learn God`s plan and will for your life.
You are strengthened and encouraged with others.
The prayers of the saints are sweet incence to the Lord.

Do not neglect God`s house.
It is here you will see full salvation.
The word must be read and studied daily.
It is food and nourishment for the soul.

Prayer is communication and communion with the Lord.
It strengthens and renews the inner man.
In this place you hear the voice of God.
You will know the secrets of His will.

The House of the Lord is where you get encouraged,
By the experience and example of others.
Together you discover a deeper place with God.
From one another we recieve help and strength.

Return to the Lord`s houe wayward one.
You heart has been burdened and unfruitful.
Come back and let God`s people,
Be God's agents for total restoration

Psalm 74 - Psalms of Steel by Robert Dean Steel

Psalm 74 - Psalms of Steel

Turmoil, problems, trials and temptations,
One after another has come my way.
Is there any relief from this misery?
The enemy has defeated me on every front..

Friends I have known for many years,
Snear, smirk, mark and slander me.
They do not want to see my healing or health.
But my destruction, pain and sorrow.

Lord what have I done to bring about this misery?
What great sin or iniquity is in the way?
Do you not care that I am perishing?
This burden is to heavy to bear.

These thoughts and worrying keep me up,
They consume my every waking hour.
Where is the forgiveness I gave to others.
What has happen to all the mercy, I extended in your name.

As I worried, prayed, fasted and called,
You seem to be silent, you did not reply.
Long nights in worry, days of sorrow,
Were my constant companion.  God are you there?

Then in a moment, in a flash of time.
God's answer came.  It has wings, it sought me out.
The Lord showed His love, His mercy and grace.
I saw the salvation and healing of the Lord.

The Lord came and healed the brokenness of my heart.
He showed me how much He cared.
The time of waiting was to deepen my trust.
I would be wiser, stronger and experienced.

When we have times of testing,
We find out the depth of our commitment.
Whether you are a winner or a whiner.
If we trust and are trustworthy, then we have learned.

The Lord is looking for faithful followers.
He is searching for the powerful persuerers.
The Lord is perfecting His soaring saints.
The God of creation wants His people to know their God.

Letter to the church!

s is only after careful consideration that I have now decided to bring an opinion on the New Town massacre in America. There have been many questions and debates about why it happened and what are the solutions. President Obama has said, "There needs to better gun control so he is leaning towards that direction. Which by the way has a hot topic in Canada. The NRA says they should have a cop with a gun in every school.
So what is the answer? Here are my thoughts. What is needed is Revival. Christians should be on their faces before God crying out for our children, young people, young adults, young families and families with teenagers. 2 Chron 7:14 is a key scripture. "If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, pray, seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land." The responsibility for this generation and the next is in our hands. It has been said that 95% of Christians will never lead a soul to Christ. That the average Christian spends less than 3 minutes a day in prayer. It will take the average Christian 29 years to ask someone to church. This helps explains why the western church is so ineffective. Now before I say another word, this is not a diatribe on the condition or a public rebuke to the church. It is call to action. A call to the intercessors, those who have the gift and calling of prayer to return to their prayer closets and fight for our children. It is a call to the empty nesters and seniors who have the economic resources to instead of spending your money on yourself to invest your money in reaching the children and youth. Praying and standing with our youth pastors, children pastors, children workers and youth leaders. Giving them the resources and help that they need to reach the children and youth. Instead of complaining about the ills of society choosing to do something about it. It starts in prayer and then is followed by action. Pastors lead the way. You be the first person in the prayer room on Sunday morning, encourage, equip, exhort your people to fight in prayer for this next generation. Here is a truth when babies are born they all have the potential to become the next Billy Graham, D.L. Moody, Malla Moe, Deborah and Esther. No child I believe intends to become a monster who kills or exploits others. Somewhere along the way satan is able to get in there and corrupt that child. The church has the power to prevent this. But the reality is only 5% of the church gets this and the rest are either to selfish or self absorbed to see this. This little letter is a simple call to action. That those in my world would hear a clarion call that we can change our world's by first praying, then once hearing from God we obey Him and do what He says. The Lord is looking today for people of action. He is looking for Joseph's, Daniel's, Paul's, Esther's, Ruth's, Rahab's, Deborah's, Jacob's, Peter's and Barnabus'. Daniel 11:32 says, "That they who know they God shall be strong and do exploits." Further tragedies can be prevented if the church wakes up and gets busy doing the right things. There has been to much, it is all about me and not enough, it is all about others. When William Booth was asked to give a mission statement for the Salvation Army. He keep in short, succinct and simple. He said, "Others." We can turn this society around. It starts with prayer and then simple obedience. Youngi Cho was asked one time by W.A. Criswell how he ended up with the biggest church in the world. His answer was simple as well. "I pray and then I obey." So let us pray and obey. A generation both now and in the future are waiting.

The Year Coming

Everyone is speculating on what 2013 will be like.  For many it will be the same as 2012.  They will get up and do the same thing day and after day.  The question I have for you is what will you different in 2012?  May I make a suggestion.  Make this a year that you spend more time in prayer.  Prayer is the thing that moves the hand of God in your world.  Pray that God will use you and bless people through you.  Here is another suggestion, spend as much time as you can in the Bible or the Word of God.  Let it become a daily routine.  There are so great truths you can learn.  Mark Twain said the one thing he dislike about the Bible is that it knew him so well.  The Bible allows us to see ourselves for what we are but the beautiful thing is that it will not allow us to stay that way.  God is in the improvement business.  He loves you to much to leave you the way that you are.  Let Him change you for His glory. Here is another suggestion.  Spend more time with your loved ones and family.  When you give yourself to others you and they always win.  At the end of life I have yet to hear a person tell me that they wish they had more money or possessions.  They say they wish they had spent more time with family and friends.  Make 2013 the year of relationships.  My last suggestion is resolve to the serve the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and love your neighbor as yourself.  Make Jesus Lord of everything.  He wants to flow through you to others.  Let this next year but your aim and goal.

Psalm 73 - Psalms of Steel by Robert Dean Steel

Psalm 72 - Psalms of Steel

In the Lord’s house there is healing.
In the sanctuary the Saints gather,
To sing Psalms, Hymns and worship.
To the Lord for His praise and glory.

The Lord’s house is a place of teaching and learning.
Here you learn God’s plan and will for your life.
You are strengthened and encouraged with others.
The prayers of the saints are sweet incense to the Lord.

Do not neglect God’s house.
It is here you will see full salvation.
The word must be ready and studied daily.

From one another we receive help and strength.

Return to the Lord’s house wayward one.
You heart has been burdened and unfruitful.
Come back and let God’s people,
Be God agents for total restoration.

Well it did not happen

Yesterday according to the Mayan's the world was suppose to end. Well it did not, no big surprise there.  The end will not come until the Lord makes that decision.  Yet the hype was there.  My grandson Gideon everyday goes on the school bus to school.  Everyday he has a time of discussion with his friends before the bus arrives.  Yesterday, the discussion of course was on the end of the world.  A great and deep subject for grade ones.  His friends were telling him that today was the end of the world which concerned him so much he came back to my wife Lois as she was dropping him off and watching the school bus zone until the school bus arrived.  He asked her if the world was going to end and she said no.  This satisfied him and he went back to his friends announcing that his grandmother said no, the world was not going to end.  The discussion continued and about five minutes later Gideon came back and asked if the world was going to end at 4:11 or 6:11 to which my wife replied,"no."  He went back and reported this again to his friends.  The school bus came before he came back for a third question.  This hype over the coming of the Lord and the end of the world creates great cynicism and debate.  Yet it can also be an opportunity for discussion.  A woman asked me a couple of days ago if I thought the world was going to end and this allowed me to share the biblical view of the end times.  My attitude and thoughts on this matter is as follows.  You need to be ready at any time for the coming of the Lord.  His coming in our case can either be two ways.  Through the rapture or death.  Either way we should live our lives ready.  Every thought, word and deed should reflect this hope and truth.  Because as I said before.  Ready or not here is He comes.

Ready or not Here He Comes

I have been reading in the secular media the last dew days about today being the end of the world.  One media outpost reported that more than 2 million people in Canada are afraid of this being the end of the world.  This weekend on National Geographic channel they are devoting the entire weekend to this event.  When I got this morning I saw the headline in a local newspaper.  "Is this the end?"  My answer is, if it is are you ready?  Jesus Christ is coming back soon, now I know that it has nothing to do with th Mayan calender but the timing of Father.  In Acts 1:8, the disciples had just seen Jesus ascend into heaven and an angel of the Lord announces that as they had seen Him go, He would return.  When Jesus comes back it will be for His church.  The reality is the His return will be so quick that we will not even have a moment to think about it.  Paul writes in 1 Thessalonians that it will happen in the twinkling of an eye.  That is about a millionth of second.  You will not even have time to think a thought.  So the question today is not are you worried about the end of the world according to the Mayan calender?  But are you ready for the coming of the Lord?  Since I gave my life to Christ some 3 decades ago.  I have lived ready.  Everyday I get up with the thought that could be my last day on the planet.  I am aware of the fragile reality of life.  There is no guarantee that we will live through the day.  So I live ready.  I love how Ruth Graham daughter of Billy Graham lives.  She says, she lives her life as if she has only five minutes left.  That means she is always focused on eternal things.  Are you ready for the coming of the Lord?  Paul says it could happen at anytime.  So like the old hide and seek saying, "Ready or not here He comes."  Live ready.  The Mayan's may have it wrong but the Bible does not.

Psalm 71 - Psalms of Steel By Robert Dean Steel

Psalm 71 -  Psalms of Steel

Man is a curious creature, He can sees all your creation.
And yet misses the most obvious truth.
There is a God who by a word created all.
Foolishly they say there is no God.
They deny the very witness of your existence.

They foolishly debate over whether we existed or began,
Billions of years ago or if we came from monkeys.
They arrogantly propose the lie of evolution as a fact
Instead of believing you spoke the word and it was done.
They worship the creation instead of the creator to their own shame.

The folly of their thinking and pondering.
Is that in their hearts they know you exist,
Yet in ignorance they fail to see the obvious.
A person may deny you exist but they do at their peril.
True wisdom is in believing God exists, and He rewards those who seek Him.

The fool says in their hearts there is no God.
Open their eyes and their heart before it is too late.
Before death triumphs over them and there is no second chance.
In your love and mercy give them one more opportunity.
Show them your great and wonderful salvation.

What to Watch For!

In 1 Pet 3:18, Peter gives an exhortation to us today to be careful of the devil.  He is not someone to take lightly.  Peter reveals that the devil is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.  He is your enemy, if he can destroy you he will.  That is why Peter says to be alert.  The ways that the devil attacks is as follows.  First, temptation.  He tries to test you to see what you are made of.  He will always attack at the weakest point.  That is why we have to put on the whole armor of God that we can stand against the wiles of the devil.  Next, he uses deception.  He will try you decieve you into thinking that he has power over you or he will try to get you believing or thinking wrong things.  Lastly, he will use accusation.  He will try to accuse you and cause guilt.  Guilt can destroy you.  So keep your life above reproach.  When we live above reproach the devil has nothing to accuse us of.  Peter then says that we are to resist the devil.  To stand firm for we are not alone in this fight.  Beleivers have gone through the same thing since the beginning of the church.  God helped them and so He will help us.  Your promises today are:  1 Cor 10:13, James 4:7, 1 John 4:4, Rev 12:11.  Your Insightful Sayings are:  True beauty is rarely found in the mirror but in the heart.  The folly of today is that we look to the beautiful people to show us what life is like when truthfully they have no idea what they are doing.

1.  Be a ready listener and do not answer until the other person has
     Finished talking.  Prov 18:13 & James 1:13

2.  Be slow to speak.  This first.  Don’t be hasty in your words.  Speak in

     Say.   Prov 15:23; 28,21; 2321; 29:20; James 1:19

3.  Speak the truth always but do it in love.  Do not exaggerate.
     Eph 4:15.25; Col 3:19

4.  Do not use silence to frustrate the other person.  Explain why you are
Hesitant to talk at this time.

5. Do not become involved in quarrels.  It is possible to disagree without
    Quarreling.  Prov 17:14; 20:3; Rom 13:13; Eph 4:31

6. Do not respond in anger.  Use a soft and kind response.  Prov 14:29;

And edify them.  Rom 14:13; Gal 6:1; 1 Thess 5:11
If someone verbally attacks, criticizes, or blames you, do not respond in
     The same manner.  Rom 12:17, 21; 1 Pet 2:23; 3:9

10.  Try to understand the other person’s opinion.  Make allowances for
Differences.  Be concerned about their interests.  Phil 2:1-4; Eph 4:2

Psalm 70 - Psalms of Steel by Robert Dean Steel

Psalm 70 - Psalms of Steel

Who can compare to the Lord.
What structure or man made thing has His glory.
Man has created many wondrous things.
But the thought the resources behind was supplied by God.
The highest thought of man is below the smallest thought of God.

The Mountains majestic and beautiful declare God’s glory.
The winter storm with its wind and snow show His power and might.
The sun rising, in the morning and setting in the evening.
Show your care and love for your children.
The waves pounding on the seashore display your awesome creation.

All creation with its intricate parts cry out there is a creator.
With so much evidence only a fool would miss these facts.
Lord ,open the eyes of all your children.
May they see that the things of man will pass away but nothing you do, will.
May all come to you and know you before it’s too late.

Be Fervent in Love

In 1 Pet 4:8, Peter gives the following exhortation to the Christian.  We are to be fervent in our love, for this love will cover a multitude of sins.  This is of course, not for our sins but those that are committed against us.  Paul expressed the same thought in 1 Corinthians 13 when he spoke that if we don't love the way God wants us to love, we receive, produce and are of not real value.  The Love of God overlooks sins to the sinner who needs His forgiveness.  When we love the way God wants us to love, in the agape style of love, then we can forgive even the most blantant sins that are committed against us.  We love the sinner and not the sin.  This love is something that has to be worked at.  It does come to us naturally, but supernaturally.  You must allow the love of God flow in and through you.  You hold the key, you must allow this love in your life and not allow it to grow cold.  The only way that you can keep it glowing is to keep in prayer, the word and worshipping the Lord in Spirit and in truth.  The Lord will help you in dealing with the person that is rather unlovely.  Keep that love fervent and glowing for it will truly help to cover a multitude of sins.  Your promises today are, Ps 28:7, 34:18, 147:3, Prov 4:23, 15:13, Isaiah 30:15 and Jer 31:13.  Your Insightful Sayings are:  Patience is like the young man waiting for his date.  It takes a while but the finished product is well worth it.  Remember beauty is fleeting and even plastic surgery cannot fix an ugly heart.

Psalm 69 - Psalms of Steel by Robert Dean Steel

Psalm 69 - Psalms of Steel

Lord let this house you are building be strong.
Let its foundation be built on love.
The cornerstone to be one of grace and mercy.
The frame of this house must be timbers of integrity.
Let its inner workings be made up of humility and holiness.
Let it be adorned with faith and trust.

It has been said, "If the Lord does not build the house, the labor is in vain."
Let us not build unless it be for edification,
May every part be well built and of the highest quality.
Help us to build this house with strong teaching that builds faith.
Let prayer be the fuel that heats the home.
May love be the structure of all that is done in this house.

Lord whatever is built must be for your glory.
May whatever comes out of your people praise your name.
Let our lives be built on you power and presence.
May we never dishonor your name by foolishness.
Put a watchman on our lips so we will blame you.
Help us when we are weak so when the testing comes, we will stand.
